Welcome to Golden Gavel Toastmasters Club!

If you:
  • are uncomfortable speaking in front of a group of three or three hundred and wish to learn to overcome this fear of public speaking,
  • want to develop your leadership skills in a fun and non- intimidating environment, and
  • want to learn valuable life and career skills, and make new friends in the process.

YOU HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE.

Golden Gavel Toastmasters, are pleased to offer our members a collegial and friendly atmosphere where they can develop and practice communication and leadership skills.  The support and encouragement we receive from fellow members is what makes Toastmasters a truly rewarding and enjoyable experience.

As a member of a Toastmasters International club, you will be part of a world wide organization that has helped thousands become better communicators and leaders through practical exercises and member evaluation.  Everyone is free to participate at their own pace, but beware the enthusiasm of our club is contagious.

We would be pleased to have you to visit our club.  We meet every Wednesday night at the Elgin West Community Centre in Richmond Hill (11099 Bathurst Street) from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.

“I joined Toastmasters in 2007 to overcome nervousness in public speaking. The club members were wonderful to support me in any roles. They encouraged my trial always positively instead of bringing my weak point. That was fantastic to go forward. Especially, my mentor guided my speech in detail, and corrected my preparation and performance. Mentor’s help was the key point in my improved status. Although I focused mainly on communication skills, leadership skills were improved accordingly. I feel still nervous when delivering my speech, but the difference before I joined Toastmasters and now is ‘I cared the nervousness before I joined, but don’t care it now’. The learning curve has been wonderful.” – Ted Oh CC
